Owns Horse(s)? Yes
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you? Being a Kerrits Ambassador to me is spreading the love for a company that has always helped me get through my long days at the barn. An ambassador is someone who promotes a brand and I know that I can do that. To be a successful representative you have to have a solid foundation under you and also have a passion. I truly believe that I have both of these qualities. I am involved in local organizations, host both schooling and recognized shows at my farm, host clinics, compete at horse shows and run a boarding farm. Being involved in the horse community is key to bringing attention to a company. Since I am on the board of local organizations I am going to have them join the Kerrits Ambassador’s program. With my passion I know I can spread my knowledge and experience of the Kerrits brand to my fellow equestrians both locally and nationally. Joining this team is a feeling that is hard to describe because I just love giving back in any way I possibly can.
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador? As a rider my goal is to have every horse perform at their best, not by forcing but through trust and empathetic riding. Happy healthy horses is one of the most important things in my mind. I want to build a solid, trusting, relationship with every horse that I ride through cross-training and a solid foundation. I have had the privilege of working with many different horses over the years and each one is so different. Finding what works for each horse is key to success as each horse is completely different both physically and mentally. As an Ambassador for Kerrits I feel as though I would bring the same passion I have as a rider and a trainer to helping out such a well-known brand like Kerrits. Having such a passion for what I do and then also finding a brand that helps me succeed is just a wonderful thing. When I am passionate about something I always find myself talking about it and with Kerrits I find myself talking about this brand all the time. I am always asked how I last at the barn all day whether it is cold or hot out, how do I get through? Well, the answer is simple, my Kerrits get me through! I always tell everyone to go out and get a pair, until you have ridden in them you don’t know what you are missing out. Spreading the knowledge of such a wonderful brand doesn’t seem like work to me, it just comes natural because I love them so much.
What is your connection to Kerrits? My very first pair of Kerrits breeches was a performance tight that I had gotten as a little girl probably around the age of 8. I wore them every chance I had and them became a staple of my riding. This single pair of riding pants I wore until there was nothing left of them. I would have to say that I wore them for close to 10 years. From purchasing them at such a young age and being able to wear them into my teen age years was amazing. To find a product that actually lasted and fit me was just overall fantastic. It is has been a challenge for me to find breeches that fit me correctly that I actually do not mind putting on everyday. I have tried so many different brands that it has been exhausting. I have gotten off of my horse with blisters, bruises, cuts and overall just pain and it has all been clothing related. I know that every time I put on a Kerrits product whether it be a shirt or a pant I will be comfortable! I spend long days at the farm doing barn work to riding to really just anything and to find something that I am comfortable in just makes my day go by that much smoother. Kerrits is made by women and worn by women all around and I am going to stand by this brand 100%.
