What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you? To me, being a Kerrits Ambassador means being there to help others and wearing stylish, comfortable, durable, and functional clothes while doing so. That is why I would love to represent Kerrits and be an ambassador. Others may want to do it just to do it because "all of the cool kids are doing it" but I want to be an ambassador to put the great Kerrits name out there in as many ways as possible because Kerrits is my favorite brand!
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador? Any free time I get, I can be found at the barn either volunteering with the lesson program (assisting the teacher and being a side walker) or riding. I personally believe that volunteering is something that every person in the world should do as it really does change a person. I know that when I started riding at the age of 7, I was just your average little lesson kid who was afraid to get stepped on or fall off. Now, at the age of 16 (almost 17) I can comfortably work around all types of horses and now help to teach kids just like me how to ride and be comfortable around the horses in ways that the actual instructor may not have thought of. Of course, any time I am at the barn I can be found wearing my favorite pair of Kerrits tights (the Flow Rise Performance Tight in the purple houndstooth) or some of my various other Kerrits apparel.
My passion as an ambassador would be to make sure everyone that I talk to who is in the market for a new pair of breeches knows just how fantastic Kerrits really is. I have a unique position with a lot of children where once they get to a certain level in their riding, they want to start getting the proper riding clothes and sometimes it can be hard to convince them to not just go with the cheapest breeches/tights they can get. Usually they ask me what my fun purple patterned pants are and I make sure to tell them that they are my Kerrits Performance Tights and are my absolute favorite. Usually the next question that comes is, "how much are they?" I tell them around how much they are, but I just do not stop there. To most of these kids, spending more than thirty dollars on a pair of pants is unheard of. I know how important it is to reassure them how great the quality of all of Kerrits products are and that my favorite pair of purple breeches are actually almost two years old and still look brand new (seriously, still amazed at the quality every time!). Usually these kids (and their parents) are amazed at how long they last and ask me where the nearest store that sells them is. I love to see the look on their faces when the kids come back from the tack shop wearing their Kerrits tights, I feel really happy that I helped them out (and that the child is now extra fashionable).
What is your connection to Kerrits? I first heard about the Kerrits brand about two and a half years ago through several friends. I had been wearing what ever were the cheapest breeches that somewhat held together for the longest time (I guess little me thought the more pairs of cheap breeches I buy, the more lessons I can have?) I just really got sick of the breeches I was wearing and decided I wanted to save up for my first pair of nice breeches, and they were going to be Kerrits after all of the awesome things I had heard about the brand. I waited a few months and saved up about half of the money for my breeches and told my dad that the local tack shop was having a sale and I wanted to go try the Kerrits on just to see if they even fit me right and then I would go and save up the rest of my money and buy my first pair. He agreed to take me to the tack shop and I found the breeches and walked out with my first pair of Kerrits tights (my purple houndstooth Flow Rise Performance Tights). I wore them around the barn every single time I went to ride, hang out, or volunteer. The best thing is that I still have them and wear them around the barn! Since then I have bought several more pairs of tights and various accessories (I currently have my eye on one of the quarter zips, a few more pairs of breeches, and a new show coat from my favorite brand!) Kerrits is hands down my favorite brand of equestrian apparel out there and I can not wait to get my hands on more Kerrits!
