Owns Horse(s)? Yes
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you? Being an ambassador for any established name is an honor. Becoming a Kerrits Ambassador means holding myself to the utmost professionalism and kindness to my fellow equestrians. For me, Kerrits embodies comfortable and functional clothing. As a working equestrian I know how much we rely on our clothing to keep us warm or cool in the elements, without becoming uncomfortable!
I also truly enjoy the Kerrits pilates for equestrian videos! Being a certified equestrian pilates® trainer I fully support the movement of equestrian fitness! I would promote this as an ambassador as equestrian fitness comes to the fore front in our industry trends and practices.
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador? My passions as a rider as follows…
Charlee Wilson attended Lake Erie College, earning a degree in Equine Science / Equine Entrepreneurship in NE Ohio. During her time at Lake Erie College she rode for three years on the Intercollegiate Dressage Team, founded and taught the Lake Erie College Equestrian Pilates Club, became a FIT Model for UN1TUS Athletics and completed a five month internship with Cleveland Clinic Integrative Medicine where she studied human metaphysical/physical/mental responses to therapeutic techniques.
Charlee is certified to teach Equestrian Pilates®, she is 1 of 8 instructors in the United States, as well as the youngest. She currently teaches in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Charlee vigorously trains herself in the art of dressage, forever striving for purity of movement and deep connection with the horses she works with.
In 2012 Charlee opened her first business, PRIMO EQUUS. PRIMO EQUUS brings awareness to the often forgotten scientific/metaphysical side of riding. A few of the services offered are: Rider meditation, positive affirmations, chakra balancing/health (both horse and rider), biomechanics of the rider, and anatomical correctness. Besides private lessons, Charlee has been asked to be a clinician in May 2015 at Horse-a-rama in Manitowoc, WI.
Her motto is; “ If we spend all this time and money on fixing the horse, making sure the horse is a properly prepared athlete, shouldn’t we spend a little time on ourselves?”
As an ambassador, I plan to embody the spirit of Kerrits. Functional style and comfort! (Without charging an arm and a leg!) I have a GREAT passion to promote equestrian fitness through equestrian pilates® and rider biomechanics. Kerrits is one of the big names in the industry to create their own fitness videos and I really respect that forward thinking mentality.
What is your connection to Kerrits? Kerrits was the first "horsey polo" I received on my 12th birthday, I never took it off! Accompanied by that memory is the one of saving (he's now 4.5) a 7 month old thoroughbred from slaughter. In all the photos I have Kerrits on and that always stays with me!
