Owns Horse(s)? Yes. For the past 3 years of my riding career, I have been an eventer. I competed in USEA recognized events up to the novice level, while schooling training and preliminary levels. I have recently changed courses in my career, and I am now doing straight dressage.
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you? Being a Kerrits Ambassador would mean the world to me. I would promote this excellent brand everywhere I go. I compete all over the Southeast, and I would be able to show this great brand to a lot of different people. I think it would be cool to exemplify the fact that a goal of Kerrits's is to provide women with clothes that make them feel confident about themselves, no matter your body type. I think it is extremely cool that you mentioned "We strongly advocate hemet awareness and safe equine practices", being a former Pony Clubber, this really means a lot. I have been an advocate about equine safety. I recently had a bad fall on cross country before I switched to dressage, and the doctors in the emergency room said that my helmet and air-vest saved my life. I think that a brand as big as Kerrits, can have a huge effect on the horse world through equipment safety. I will also help show this side of Kerrits, along with the amazing quality of the clothing. I helped promote 3*** Event rider, Dom Schramm's campaign for helmet safety "#mindyourmelon". I am a hard worker when it comes to these types of things, and I will try my best to promote this excellent brand along with its morals. I think that being a Kerrits ambassador will help strengthen my accomplishments as a rider. I live 12 minutes away from Poplar Place farm, which holds 3*** horse trials, and people from all over the country, and sometimes from other countries come, along with many other recognized shows, and that is a great outlet for publicity for this Kerrits. I go to almost every show they have, whether it be competing, or supporting a friend. My mom helped start an equestrian team at my high school, and she actually got the school to letter us if we meet requirements through USEF, and I could help promote the brand and encourage teammates to purchase and promote your products as well.
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador? As a rider, my passion is dressage. I finally have come to the realization that this is the field I want to pursue as a rider. I have hopes to get my Bronze medal, and make it to NAJYRC. I also enjoy being a groom to people at horse shows. I have the opportunity to be a groom for a friend at NAJYRC for dressage or for a different friend who could qualify for the 1* team for eventing. I would say as an ambassador, I really like to promote equipment safety, and always looking "sharp" when you ride, and show respect for the sport. Having equipment that is not safe can be very dangerous, and could result in serious injuries. I always think that it is important to "dress your very best" when you ride, especially during lessons. When I attended Area III Young Rider camp in Ocala, FL, with instructors such as Kyle Carter (Canadian Olympian), and I got the award for neatest rider/best dressed. It is important to show your respect to the instructor by looking like you want to succeed. My former eventing coach Imtiaz Anees (Equestrian Olympian), and always insisted that I was well turned-out, as well as my horse.
What is your connection to Kerrits? I have always had Kerrits clothing in my closet. I remember my first pair of Kerrits; a pair of blue schooling tights. I still have them in my closet, I can't let them go! I remember one time when I was little, a pair of my favorite pair of Kerrits got torn while I was getting off my horse, and I cried my eyes out! From schooling tights to show breeches, Kerrits has always been my go-to brand. I always flip to the Kerrits section in all the riding catalogs to see what the new Kerrits trend is. I think that it is really cool that there is a brand made strictly for women. It is very important for women to be comfortable in the clothes they wear. Kerrits has always strived to provide their customers with stylish and comfortable clothing, which you guys have definitely done. It's nice to know that there is a brand of clothing that will look good on you know matter what your body type is. It is important that women feel confident in the clothes that they wear. Kerrits provides women with the best quality of riding clothes for any occasion. I end up wearing my pair of Kerrits with fleece inside almost everyday during the winter because I love them so much! Kerrits has always been my favorite clothing brand, and and will be for the rest of my riding career! (In the first photo, I am wearing the Kerrits full seat breeches.... and in the second picture I am wearing the Kerrits sleeveless top, and breeches, this was the day that I tried my new horse)
