Saddleseat, Huntseat, Western

Owns Horse(s)? Yes. Saddleseat is my primary discipline (Saddlebreds), but I also show hunters and western pleasure quarter horses. I believe versatility is the key to being successful in our industry. I also train my own horses for multiple disciplines and I teach beginner level saddleseat riding lessons at Boone's Farm and Stables.

What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you? Being a Kerrits Ambassador would be an amazing experience. I am a strong supporter of the Kerrits brand and I think this would be a great opportunity for me to share my love for the brand even more. This opportunity would be another chance for me to be further involved in the industry, and I would get to represent a brand I use and trust.

What are your passions as a rider and ambassador? I am an extremely competitive and passionate person in the equine industry. I have a drive to succeed in everything I do and I make it my goal to work hard and learn as much as I can about every aspect of the equine industry. Although I compete in many disciplines, saddleseat is the discipline I am most passionate about. I love the thrill of riding a high- headed, high-stepping, beautiful, and talented American Saddlebred. I am currently the reigning Reserve National Academy Senior Equitation Champion. I earned this title on November 2, 2014 at the National Academy Championship Horse Show. I have an extreme passion for saddleseat equitation, as I believe it helps me as a rider more than anything else. I love to memorize and execute patterns in the equitation classes. I also love to teach riders how to ride the beautiful American Saddlebred. I love to see the smile and thrill on other's faces as I get to share my passion with them. There is just no other horse who can compare to the American Saddlebred.

As for my other disciplines of riding, I am still just as competitive. I own and train my very own American Quarter Horses. Training these two horses on my own has taught me so much about horses and has increased my versatility in the industry. They are very talented and I am extremely grateful for them.

Finally, I also compete on an equine 4H team to further my knowledge of the equine. I am involved in judging, hippology, project books, creative expression projects, quiz bowl, and presentations of the equine. I feel these extra activities teach me a lot and will benefit me in the industry.

What is your connection to Kerrits? My first experience with the Kerrits brand was at Jayne's Village Tack Shop. I had only been riding about a year and my mom took me to get a pair of riding pants. The owner of the store suggested Kerrits bootcut jodphurs. After that I was hooked. These jods are so comfortable that I now refuse to ride in jeans. I currently own three pairs of the bootcut jods, two pairs of breeches, one blue jacket with detachable hood, one head warmer, and one Kerrits drawstring bag. I am thoroughly pleased by the brand and I continue to add to my Kerrits collection. What an awesome brand, I don't know how people survive without your bootcut jods!! They are an amazing pair of practice jods. Thank you for providing an awesome amount of merchandise for equestrians everywhere.
