Ambassador: COURTNEY FORD
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you?
Becoming a Kerrits Ambassador means embodying a brand that has so much to offer for everyone in the equestrian world! My first pair of riding pants that I ever owned were Kerrits and if I were to look hard enough, I probably still own them! And I bet they are in the same condition! With that being said, I have been riding consistently since age 10! Representing Kerrits would be so rewarding in so many ways. I run a small lesson program with many young students who look up to me for all types of support. I always recommend Kerrits to them for their first pair of breeches because I know they will love them.
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador?
When I first started riding, I was mostly into equitation classes at the local horse shows. Then I became highly interested in the Hunter's. I would always tell my mom "I want to look like that!" So I did. I taught myself how to ride like a hunter because my trainer was more into equitation. Now, I have strayed away from the Hunter's and into eventing. I have become so passionate about the three disciplines because they have taught me so much about myself and my precious horse, Bugzee. I was always held back when I did the Hunter's. I was never confident enough to go any higher than 2'6 jumps. Now, I have no fear! I have learned more now than I have my entire riding career. Any discipline in the equestrian world has to be done with passion. I believe that's where the connection between horse and rider comes in at full force. I have always loved riding. But now it is more of an obsession because I'm always eager to overcome the next ditch, coop, bank, etc.
What is your connection to Kerrits?
As I stated before, my first pair of breeches were Kerrits! They were black and I remember being so obsessed with the seeds attached to the pair! I didn't know much then as I do now and Kerrits is still one of my favorite brands! The thin pull on breeches are probably my favorite for the summer time. They're easy to get on and off in the sticky heat! The colors are also so awesome.
