Ambassador: ELLEN JENSEN
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you?
Being a Kerrits Ambassador means that I put the company first, no matter what. I've been wearing Kerrits ever since I started riding three years ago and I still love them today. Kerrits is my FAVORITE equestrian brand and I would be so honored to represent this amazing company. I would promote the company on my social media (Instagram and YouTube), continue wearing my amazing Kerrits apparel to the barn, and talk to anyone who had any questions at my barn. Being a Kerrits Ambassador is not a role I would take lightly, and I would love to be part of the Kerrits team!
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador?
I started riding three years ago at a tiny barn back in Illinois. At that barn I learned the basics of riding, and as my riding progressed I started learning how to ride saddleseat. I rode at the barn for 2 years, showing in saddleseat schooling shows, taking weekly lessons, but more importantly I started working with horses with behavioral issues. When I moved to Colorado, I found a barn close to my house and almost immediately continued with my lessons. In November of last year, I started working with a Norwegian Fjord horse named Zazu. I learned a lot from Zazu, and within a few weeks he was sold. Because I had no one to ride, my trainer introduced me to a new rescue horse she had gotten, an 8 year old Arabian/Paint cross named Red. I've been working with him ever since and even though in March of 2016 he got severally sick, we are a great team! I'm learning how to event, and I'm excitied to move up to training level in dressage soon! I also sometimes ride two other rescues, a five year old Ottb named Ruff Cut and a six year old dapple grey pony named Sprite. I have an Instagram and YouTube that I would be excited to promote Kerrits on! I also love riding(obviously) and I enjoy wearing my Kerrits apparel to the barn.
What is your connection to Kerrits?
In Illinois, the winters are brutal, so my very worried mother hunted for hours on the internet looking for a pair of breeches to keep me warm when I first started riding! She finally came across Kerrits, and so we paid a visit to the local tack shop and found the perfect pair of Kerrits. I remember how affordable and cozy they were! If my lesson was at one, I would get dressed at nine in my breeches, ride, and then come home and wear them until about five at night! They also fit my long and skinny legs perfectly! I've used them every year since then. They've held up remarkably since then and of course, I've picked up some more Kerrits products! Overall, I would have to say that Kerrits is my favorite equestrian brand!
