Ambassador: EMILY HAY
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you?
I would love to become a Kerrits ambassador for so many reasons! First of all, I absolutely love your breeches, they are so comfortable while also being extremely stylish. If I was picked to become a brand ambassador I would be so happy! I would put you in my instagram bio, I would post about what an amazing company you guys run and I would be sure to buy a ton more breeches and riding shirts. I go to a ton of shows and will be at Fieldstone Spring and Summer festivals, as well the entire week of Head of the Bay and will gladly sit behind a Kerrits booth all day informing other equestrians about the brand and helping promote and sell products. I have a high-quality camera that I can use to take pictures of myself and my lease horse repping the Kerrits brand!
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador?
My passions as a rider would have to be creating a strong bond between horse and rider. I don’t own a horse but I lease one and I have been leasing since I was 8 years old. As much as I love jumping and competing, I strongly believe that spending time with your horse and teaching them tricks, feeding them treats, talking to them, grazing them, and just hanging out with your horse are key aspects in a strong horse and rider connection. I think that the horse and rider get along better with each other by spending quality time together. In my riding though, I compete at the A and sometimes AA rated level and would love for the opportunity to show at some of the bigger finals. I have only competed in some of the smaller finals such as MHJ Finals and RIHA Finals but would absolutely love for the opportunity to compete at one of the big finals. I plan on working hard with both myself and my horse in and out of riding to be able to get there. I will help my parents out by getting a job to help pay for the costs and will help my horse out by training him and giving him well deserved days off and extra love! As an ambassador, I would love for the opportunity to represent the brand that helped get me so into horses. I want to see more people wearing Kerrits clothing when I go to the barn or a show and I would like to help make that a reality.
What is your connection to Kerrits?
My first connection with Kerrits would have to go back to when I first started riding almost 10 years ago! When I told my mom that I wanted to start riding horses, she was very supportive and took me to my local tack shop to purchase some riding clothes. I instantly went over to the Kerrits breeches and I bought at least ten pairs of them back to my mom. My mom told me that I had to pick one until I really started riding horses and so I sat there for about a half hour trying to decide between my top two until my mom finally gave in and let me have both of them and ever since they have been my favorite breeches to ride in
