Ambassador: EMMA DE LAS SALAS
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you?
Being a Kerrits Ambassador would mean the world to me. I have been buying my riding clothes from Kerrits for years and have always dreamed of being able to represent this great company. Kerrits has been my favorite brand for a long time because the clothes are fashionable and at a reasonable price. Also, I have always liked the fact that part of the profits are donated to the Equestrian Land Conservation Resource. I love how they protect our pastures. The first green OTTB that I owned was named Mo. After a long show jumping career, we found out he had a hole in his heart and had to be put out to pasture. Ever since this situation I have always had a huge soft spot for any organization that tries to protect the health of our pastures. I would love to represent this amazing brand because I love what they stand for and how they want to keep the environment safe and healthy.
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador?
Since I was five years old, I have always felt a special connection with horses. Riding to me is an escape from stress as well as a challenge. I grew up riding amazing push button horses at some top barns on the A circuit but as I grew older, I wanted more of a challenge. So I started working with green horses instead. This experience has been so rewarding and I can't wait to see where it takes me in my riding career. I have started an Equestrian Instagram that showcases all the different horses I currently work with and have worked with in the past. As I stated above, my first green project was an OTTB named Mo. I loved this horse so much because he challenged me more than any other. Mo and I competed up to 2'6 Hunters before we found out about his condition. Even though it was a very difficult situation, it was very important for Mo to be in a safe pasture and that the pasture would be maintained for years to come. Since then I have always been very supportive of any company that wants to help maintain our environment. This is why I would love to be an ambassador for Kerrits.
What is your connection to Kerrits?
I remember my first experience with Kerrits was on my 8th birthday. I was surprised with my second horse named The Bellehop as well as a new riding outfit from Kerrits. But it wasn't till I was fifteen till I really started to understand what the company stands for. Since then, it has been my top company for riding clothes. Especially since I ride up to seven horses a day, I need riding clothes that are fashionable but also durable. In my experience with Kerrits, my riding clothes have lasted through many rides.
