Ambassador: KATE WELDER
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you?
To me, being a Kerrits Ambassador means representing a product that I believe is great in many ways. These breeches have helped me feel confident in while riding. Because I am so petite for my age, it is hard for me to find riding clothes that are "cool" enough for an almost thirteen year old but still fit me correctly. Kerrits are definitely cool enough and fit me great. It also doesn't hurt that they are more comfortable than my leggings. Being a Kerrits Ambassador would help me see how far I have grown. I have grown as a rider wearing the same Kerrits breeches I have had for 3 years ago. It would be such an amazing experience to grow even more with this company. it!
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador?
My passion as a rider and as an ambassador is being able to do what I enjoy and love. I started riding about five years ago. I was inspired during an annual trip to Texas. My dad grew up there and many distant family members also rode. My mom has always loved fashion and taught in the fashion department at a college near my stables a few years back. I have always loved helping her with her latest garments and pieces. The company Kerrits combines two of my favorite things, riding and fashion. I feel I have a very big relation with this brand.
What is your connection to Kerrits?
About 3 years ago, I was looking for my first pair of real breeches. I went to a local tack store, Jacks Turf Goods, and tried on a few pairs of breeches. All of them were either too long or too loose. When we tried on a pair of Kerrits they fit perfectly but they still were stretchy enough for me to have room to grow. To this day I still had that pair of pants. They have held up great. I started getting interested in the company a few months ago. I loved the idea of how there are so many different people involved that all come from different backgrounds, yet everyone has the same love for horses. I have grown as a rider with my pair of Kerrits breeches but I feel I could grow as a person by becoming a Kerrits Ambassador.
