Ambassador: LAURA KAY
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you?
The exposure of such a great brand to fellow Eventers is necessary and I would be honored to do so. All of my Kerrits apparel is "Eventing Strong". As Eventers, our clothes go thru a beating but without a doubt, Kerrits can come out of that washer strong and ready for more fun. The opportunity to share Kerrits with others would be just as described above, fun.
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador?
Hearing the hooves fall across the trail as we gallop towards our next cross country fence and then the sweet second in the air where we both have wings, pure trust and athleticism all in one moment, it is precious. It's hard not to let riding become a passion and I could go on and on about that but I'll be frank. My passions is about those break thru moments, moving up a level and going clear, holding a counter canter, cleaning a stall with a muzzle on your shoulder, hearing their nickers in the morning, it's all about the commitment to something larger than yourself. I want others to feel this same drive and love. I want to share riding with others and I want to be able to do it the best I can. Everyone starts somewhere and a pair of Kerrits hand me downs was my first pair of breeches for my first lesson and the rest is history.
What is your connection to Kerrits?
As mentioned above my first pair of breeches were Kerrits and from then on I've owned over 10 pairs of Kerrits breeches. However, breeches are not the only garmets I have and use from Kerrits, I also have some of the Ice Fill shirts. I was recently diagnosed with Vitiligo and when I was diagnosed with Vitiligo, they recommended that I do not ride outside anymore because of the UV damage that can occur in my already effected portions of my hands/wrists/arms/body in general. Well, of course that wasn't going to work! I bought a couple of he IceFill long sleeve shirts and, I have to say, I LOVE them! Riding outside is now almost completely worry free because I am now able to have ample coverage.
