Ambassador: MIRIAM DOVERS
What does being a Kerrits Ambassador mean to you?
Being a Kerrits Ambassador means representing what is truly my favorite brand of English riding appeal. Representing Kerrits, not only on Instagram and social media, but also to all of my students at Bear Creek Stables, and at all of my horse shows that myself and my students attend. My Stables is located 1 mile south of Austin, TX and has successfully been in business for 35 years. I want to share Kerrits with all of my students from ages 7, through senior riders. I want to share my love of this brand to the Austin, TX horse community, and to all of the surrounding areas. I want to share your brand in an always safe and always classy deminer. Kerrits is the go to brand that I go to. I want it to also be the go-to brand for all of my students, friends and fellow competitors!
What are your passions as a rider and ambassador?
I have been riding horses both English and Western since I was 5 years old. I am now 25. I grew up in a family owned (my parents) horse stables business, that has focused on teaching Austin, Texas' youth and University of Texas students horseback riding lessons, ranging from have never seen a horse before, through advanced riders. I have shown horses on a regular basis since I was 7 years old. I've grown up riding horses 5 days a week for 20 years at this point. I now teach 75% of the lessons at our Stables. I take my students to horse shows on a regular basis. My favorite thing to do that I started professionally in 2016, is training horses in a variety of disciplines. I graduated with a degree in business management to learn how to continue to successfully run a horse Stables. Horses truly are my number one priority and passion in life.
What is your connection to Kerrits?
I officially knew that Kerrits were my favorite brand when Dover Saddlery opened up in Austin, Texas. My first trip to a Dover store, I went in open-minded. I knew that I needed 2 pairs of breeches, but I had no idea of what size or brand. A very kind lady at Dover sent me into a dressing room with about 8 different brands of beige breeches in my hands. After trying them all on, no brand, except for Kerrit, fit just right. Perfect fit around my waist, not too loose and not to snug. Perfect leg length. Fit around my calves and thighs just right. But the best part was how they were not only the most flattering pair of breeches that I tried on but also the most comfortable (BY FAR). Then I started discovering and trying on the different styles and fun colors that Kerrits had to offer. The next thing you know, buying 2 pairs of breeches turned into walking out of Dover with 7 pairs of Kerrits. That's when I knew that I found my brand.
