Meet Team Rider Kaylawna Smith
Discipline: Eventing
Temecula, California
Kaylawna grew up in the equestrian world. She is the assistant rider to both Tamie and Heather, and in addition grooms for Heather at competition. Kaylawna has competed in multiple preliminary level competitions and at the One-Star level. In 2014, she placed 9th at the NAJYRC 1* with her mount, London Calling OHF. Kaylawna was an assistant for Dressage rider Niki Clarke. Not only did she get to ride and groom many very talented horses but she was able learn how to ride true Dressage. During her time spent working for Niki, Kaylawna, competed in an FEI Prix St. George where she finished in 2nd and 3rd place. At the end of 2019, Kaylawna was named to the 2020 USEF U25 Program Eventing Assessment Program. Kaylawna is grateful for the opportunity that was given to her to work as Niki’s right hand and one of the top dressage riders in the United States. Kaylawna is enjoying running the Next Level Eventing Riding Academy as the head trainer and is excited to promote the sport of eventing.
I am grooming them before my ride.
