What to wear to a horseback riding clinic
If you’re participating in a riding clinic or just want to look put-together at your next lesson, you’ll want to choose the appropriate riding top and breeches to help you feel polished and confident. Choose riding clothes in neutral colors, styles that are form-fitting, and fabrics that stretch and move with you. This will help your trainer assess your position and won’t distract from your horse’s movement. A long sleeve or short sleeve shirt with a collar is most appropriate to wear for an equestrian clinic. In cooler weather, a slim vest or fitted sweater can be worn over your collared shirt. For rainy or cold weather, add a solid-color, waterproof jacket designed with a two-way front zip and a split-back hem for in-saddle performance. Breeches with a front fly and snap and belt loops are the most traditionally acceptable riding pants for a clinic. Classic neutral breech colors like sand, tan, navy, or black are common choices. Tuck your shirt in and add a belt to finish the look.
