Make sure that boot is completely dry before cleaning. Rub with a damp, lint-free cloth or a special suede brush. Do this in straight motions but in different directions, as this will help remove dirt without pushing it deeper into the fibers.

Great packing/hiking boots

This is my second pair of these boots and I just love them. I ride western and do trail maintenance. I needed boots that were waterproof, had good tread, could hold up to a beating, could support spurs, were comfy for occasional hiking, and could fit toe warmers. These boots do all of those things. A little stiff at first (duh) but they've worn into really comfy boots. I've had my first pair for 2+ years and they were my main pair of boots on a week-long horse packing trip this year. I just bought a second pair because I love the new light brown color and I'm secretly worried that Kerrits will stop selling these boots. I have a narrow heel, but the ball of my foot is regular (not wide or narrow) and these fit me well; the boots are true to size.

Regarding the waterproofness - I live in an area that is wet and cold all winter and my feet are still cozy and dry in my old boots during 4+ hour trail rides. I've ridden these in a thunderstorm and my feet stayed dry. However, the waterproofness doesn't go very high up the boot - if you step in a deep puddle or spray the hose at your foot, the water can get in where the tongue meets the rest of the shoe. I think that's pretty standard and I only trust my muck boots to actually keep my feet dry while using the hose.

I never write reviews but I came here for this. My friends in my local Back Country Horsemen group have purchased these boots because I evangelize about these boots whenever anybody is looking for a new pair. They…

Trail Blazer Lace Up Waterproof Boot

Love the look and style of the boot. But. Perhaps they run a bit over size? Could fit 2 fingers behind the heel in my left boot. The sole felt a bit thin after wearing Keen insulated hiking boots. I added jel pads which seemed to help both problems above, though my left boot is still a bit loose . This causes my left foot to be sore at times. Not a huge amount of insulation in them...even with thick socks on my feet they felt a bit cold on a cold day. My left foot is a bit smaller than my right. Wonder if I should return for a half size smaller. Also, though the laces look nice, they are light and time-consuming to get real snug. Maybe boot laces would be better? I like the roomy toe area. But feel the heel is too loose. I need to be able to hike as well as ride in these, as I do trail maintenance in a National Forests using my mule, and have to be in them all day. Still in the 30 day trial period. And giving them a chance to conform to my feet. I want them to work so badly!

Such a good looking boot!

Love them

These boots are well made and look just as nice in person as they do in photos. The fit is good, I do think they were made more for a wide foot but i don’t mind the little extra room. Overall there great boot!

Comfortable, practical boots!

I needed a new pair of boots after my Ariats disgracefully committed seppuku. I took a good long time to find a pair that fit my expectations:

Comfortable, well lasting, waterproof, good ankle support, and no zippers. Why does every pair of nice shoes have zippers?

These meet all of those criteria. (Except maybe long lasting, I haven’t had them long enough to know. I have it on good authority that I shouldn’t have any problems though, and they definitely look/feel sturdy)

Nice materials, comfortable lining, and I love the easy laces. They’re wide enough for my feet, and don’t look wonky.

They aren’t as pretty as a nice pair of paddock boots, but that’s definitely not my highest priority.

Note:

I always buy a size down in “outside people shoes,” 9 instead of 10. In that way, they run true to size. If you’re expecting “normal people shoes,” don’t. Go a size down, the industry standard for outdoor shoes is about one size smaller than average, across the board.
